Curatorial interpretation
Bottles, cups, teapots and vessels in muted blues, creams and yellows float across a black ground; the photograph shows the work inside a light wooden frame. The mood is intimate, domestic and nocturnal. Everyday vessels become symbolic forms, containers not only of liquid but of habit, ritual and domestic memory. Repetition turns the still life into a quiet chorus of objects. In the exhibition it appears at position 28 (ROOM VI), where its role is: medium solo. As with all works here, the title is a curatorial working title, and details such as date, medium and dimensions await the artist's confirmation.
Look slowly
Look at the black spaces between the vessels. They are shaped like vessels too.
