Curatorial interpretation

Red vessel forms with blue and white marks cluster over a dark grey field. The mood is dark, warm and secretive. Rather than depicting a fixed subject, the painting sets many signs in motion, so meaning comes from rhythm, density and interval. It rewards slow looking, as attention moves between crowded passages and moments of rest. Outside the main exhibition route, it belongs to the Explore All 60 Works collection and is best seen alongside its related works in the Field Of Signs group. As with all works here, the title is a curatorial working title, and details such as date, medium and dimensions await the artist's confirmation.
