Biography
Her artistic practice evolved from landscapes and portraiture toward a distinctive contemporary symbolic language built upon repeated visual signs, memory structures and cultural references.
Kyu Kyu was born in 1965 in Dawei, Tanintharyi Region, Myanmar.
Beginning formal artistic development in 2005, she has participated in more than 40 group exhibitions and over 10 solo exhibitions in Myanmar and internationally.
In addition to painting, she has produced modern sculptures and has also participated in performance art activities, including the 2008 NIPAF Asia Performance Art Exhibition in Japan and projects associated with New Zero Art Space.
Her work explores memory, identity, symbolism and everyday experience through layered forms, modular structures and expressive abstraction.
Today, her paintings are represented in private collections and exhibitions and continue to develop a unique visual language that merges contemporary abstraction with personal and cultural narratives.
