Curatorial interpretation
A row of standing figures in patterned white, black and red garments lines the lower edge beneath a gold field of grey and pink squares. The mood is dignified, communal and textile-rich. Clothing and pattern are treated as a language of identity: surfaces that carry colour, rhythm and belonging. The work suggests how what we wear can hold personal and cultural memory. In the exhibition it appears at position 26 (ROOM VI), where its role is: pair left. As with all works here, the title is a curatorial working title, and details such as date, medium and dimensions await the artist's confirmation.

Compare the patterns on each garment. No two figures carry the same story.
