Curatorial interpretation

A circular composition: a dark matte disc sits at the centre, surrounded by rings of coloured dots and an outer band of dense black-and-white signs that reaches the edge of the circle. The mood is cosmic, magnetic and contemplative. Rather than depicting a fixed subject, the painting sets many signs in motion, so meaning comes from rhythm, density and interval. It rewards slow looking, as attention moves between crowded passages and moments of rest. In the exhibition it appears at position 32 (Closing), where its role is: closing artwork. As with all works here, the title is a curatorial working title, and details such as date, medium and dimensions await the artist's confirmation.
