Curatorial interpretation

A large, calm navy oval occupies the centre, framed on all sides by a dense border of ochre, brown and black marks. The mood is still, open and reflective. The composition works like a diagram: a limited set of modules is repeated, rotated and packed until it becomes a field with its own pressure and direction. It can be read as an image of order and variation, a system that holds many small differences together. In the exhibition it appears at position 23 (ROOM V), where its role is: large solo. As with all works here, the title is a curatorial working title, and details such as date, medium and dimensions await the artist's confirmation.
