Curatorial interpretation
Flat, curving fields of blue, teal, green, sand and pink describe a valley or river from above, with small trees along the contours. The mood is calm, flowing and aerial. Landscape is simplified into fields, contours and gestures, closer to a felt memory of place than a record of it. The painting can be read as emotional terrain, where colour and movement carry the atmosphere. Outside the main exhibition route, it belongs to the Explore All 60 Works collection and is best seen alongside its related works in the Landscape As Symbolic Weather group. As with all works here, the title is a curatorial working title, and details such as date, medium and dimensions await the artist's confirmation.
