Curatorial interpretation

A standing figure, its body built from pale mosaic tiles, stands on a deep red field of small dark squares; a circular form and a floating fragment accompany it near the upper edge. The mood is watchful, upright and iconic. Here the human figure is not described through anatomy but assembled from signs, so the body reads as a container of accumulated marks. The work can be read as a reflection on identity as something built over time, with personal and collective memory written onto a single form. In the exhibition it appears at position 03 (ROOM I), where its role is: pair left. As with all works here, the title is a curatorial working title, and details such as date, medium and dimensions await the artist's confirmation.
