Curatorial interpretation

Broad planes of gold and navy collide in a jagged horizontal composition; gold-and-white striped bands and a vertical column of white dots anchor the right edge. The mood is dramatic, nocturnal and luminous. The composition works like a diagram: a limited set of modules is repeated, rotated and packed until it becomes a field with its own pressure and direction. It can be read as an image of order and variation, a system that holds many small differences together. In the exhibition it appears at position 19 (ROOM IV), where its role is: pair right. As with all works here, the title is a curatorial working title, and details such as date, medium and dimensions await the artist's confirmation.
